Questions & answers
Frequently asked
Answers for the two people at every show: the organizer running the box office, and the buyer holding a ticket.
Running your box office
How do I set up a show?
You create an event, add one or more performances with their dates and curtain times, choose reserved seating or general admission, set your ticket types and prices, and publish. Most organizers have their first show live in an afternoon. We can walk you through the first one.
What is the difference between reserved and general admission?
Reserved means every ticket is tied to a specific seat, and buyers pick their spot from a visual seat map you build once and reuse. General admission sells against a capacity number with no assigned seats, which suits standing rooms, choirs, and lawn shows. You can run reserved for one show and general admission for another from the same account.
How do payouts work?
Payments are processed through Stripe and paid out directly to your bank account on a rolling schedule. The money is yours from the moment a ticket sells. There is no waiting until after the show to get paid.
What does it cost?
A small flat fee per ticket sold. No monthly subscription, no setup charge, and no percentage of your box office. Free tickets and comps cost nothing. See the Pricing page for a worked example.
Can I scan tickets at the door?
Yes. Every ticket carries a unique code that you scan from any phone, and scanning works even when the venue wifi does not. A ticket that has already been scanned is flagged, so no code gets used twice.
Can I offer comps and discount codes?
Yes. You can issue comp tickets for cast families, sponsors, and reviewers, and create discount codes for presales, students, or seniors. You control how many of each exist and when they expire.
Can I use my own custom domain?
Every organizer gets a storefront on a Nalo Seats subdomain to start. Pointing your own custom domain at it is on the roadmap. If a custom domain matters for your program, tell us and we will talk through the options.
Getting to the show
How do I get my tickets?
Right after checkout, your tickets are emailed to the address you entered. Show the email on your phone at the door, or print it if you prefer. There is nothing to install.
I lost my confirmation email. What now?
Check your spam and promotions folders first, since the confirmation sometimes lands there. If you still cannot find it, contact the organizer of the show and they can resend it to you any time before the doors open.
How does will-call work?
If a show offers will-call, your name is on the list at the box office and you pick up your tickets there with a photo ID. The organizer sets whether will-call is available for their show.
Can I get a refund?
Refund and exchange policies are set by each organizer, not by Nalo Seats, and the policy for your show is shown at checkout. If you need a refund, contact the organizer you bought from and they will handle it under their policy.
How do I book accessible or wheelchair seating?
On reserved-seating shows, accessible seats and their companion seats are marked on the seat map so you can choose them directly. If you do not see what you need, or the show is general admission, contact the organizer ahead of time and they will make arrangements.
Still stuck? Email us at hello@naloseats.com and a human will get back to you. For a question about a specific show you bought tickets to, contact that show's organizer directly.
